BICYCLE THIEF SENTENCED.

WELLINGTON, this day.
"A man with a bad criminal history" was how Chief Detective Ward described Frederick Charles Richmond, a dealer, aged 27, who pleaded guilty to stealing six bicycles of the total value of £40 10/. It was stated that he took the bicycles home, and after painting them a different colour and changing the parts he sold them. His wife was a decent hard-working woman, and accused practically lived on her. A sentence of 12 months' imprisonment was imposed.
