LARGE YARDING—GOOD PRICES.

MORRINSVILLE, Tuesday

The turnover at the Farmers' Auctioneering Company's fortnightly stock sale at Morrinsville was the largest since the 1920 boom. The offering of beef was the largest seen for a considerable time, and the quality was as good as could be met with anywhere in the Waikato.

There was a particularly fine entry of ox beef, which made equal to late Westfield quotations of 45/ per 1001b. The market was generally firm. A good yarding of heifers changed hands, and 100 bullocks sold readily under keen competition. Sheep were firm at late rates, and the market for store and weaner pigs showed a rising tendency. Prices were as follow:—

Beef.—Extra prime medium weight steers, £16 2/6 to £16 17/; lighter prime, £14 10/ to £14 14/; heavy fat cows, £10 11/ to £12; medium, £8 1/ to £10 1/; lighter, £1 5/ to £8; heavy fat heifers, £8 11/ to £9 15/; forward conditioned cows, £5 17/6 to £7; good 6tore cows, £4 15/ to £5 10/; others, £2 15/ to £4; cows with calves, £5 10/ to £7 10/; forward conditioned steers, £11 5/ to £11 15/; 2%-year to 3-year Shorthorn steers, £8 11/ to £9 11/; three-year-old Holstein steers, £8 18/ to £94/; two-year and 2%-year Shorthorn steers, £7 5/ to £7 7/6; 2%-year empty Jersey heifers, £5 to £5 11/; choice yearling Jersey heifers, £6 12/ to £7 5/; smaller, £5 to £6 5/; yearling Jersey cross heifers, £4 15/ to £5 15/; good yearling Shorthorn heifers, £4 to £4 14/.
