Preston and F.-W. Wilson, I from a verdict given at Cobourg, the hey awarding the commander, of the; Ouadian Corps £100 damage for libel. Court agreed that nothing had i|jD6smred warranting a new trial. The only - error was that in the trial the W allowed too much latitude for the I eotmsel of the defendants. ' Sir Arthur Currie sued for £10,000 tattget on an article published by Mr. ItWDson and sponsored by Mr. Preston, criticising his leadership in France. ■ ■f The action for damages for libel was lirotight by Sir Arthur Currie against Mr. W. T, Preston, publisher of the -"Port Hope, Guide," and Mr. F. W, Wilson, an article alleging that the rauntlS. sacrificed the lives of Canadian mops a few hours before the Armistice. The jury found for the plaintiff, and awarded him £100 damages. The trial lasted for 11 day's. The plaintiff, who had comasnded the Canadian Forces during the • ••#«# had claimed £10,000 damages.
