LOWER PRICES
At to-day's «ale of elieepskin# and hides skins were lower in price and hides also were easier. Following are to-day's quotations:— Sheepskins (dry).—Fine crossbred, 9%d to 10% d per lb; half to three-quarter wool, 8&d to 9d; short to half-wool, 7%d to 8d; quarter wool, to 8d; pelts, 6%d to Bd. Baited: Best 10/5 each; good, 8/6 to 9/3; medium, 7/ to 7/6; poor and damaged, 2/ to 4/. Hides. —Extra heavy ox (nominal), 9d to lOd per lb; heavy, B%d to 9%d; medium, 8d to 894 d; light, 714 d to 8d; extra heavy cow, B%d to 9V6d; heavy, SVzd to B%d; medium, 7%d to 8d; light, B%d to B%d; yearlings, lOd to ll%d; best calf, lfld to 16% d; good, 14d to 15d; inferior and damaged, TMd to 10% d. Tallow.—Best mixed, 29/6 to 31/ per cwt; medium, 26/6 to 27/6; poor, 24/6 to 25/6.
