CIVIC COMMISSION.
Mr. Garlick Succeeds Late Chief. SOLDIER NEW APPOINTEE. (Received 12 noon.) SYDNEY, this day. Mr. John Garlick has been appointed chief civic commissioner of the Sydney City Council in succession to Mr. Fleming, recently deceased. Mr. Garlick was for many years head of the Local Government Department. Mr. Morton will continue as second commissioner, while Brigadier-General Gordon Bennett, importer, has been appointed the third member. He had command of the 2nd Division of the Australian Forces during the war.
