THREE WAY TALK.

Schenectady-Sydney-Java Exchange Greetings.

WONDERS OF RADIO.

(Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 9.30 a.m.)

SCHENECTADY, October 26,

For over half an hour this morning Schenectady talked to Sydney and the Conversation was rebroadcast from here. Efforts to make it a three way converBation with Java were not so successful, although the General Electric Radio engineers have been talking with Java frequently during recent weeks. Once the laymen, who had been invited to take part in the demonstration, had got over the eerie feeling for Carrying on a perfectly normal conversation across 10,000 miles of space, they began exchanging pleasantries with Sydney. One engineer, Mr. McDonald, said it Was 6.34 a.m. when a clear connection Was established, which was 9.34 p.m. at Sydney; a cold clear autumn morning at Schenectady and a mild spring evening in Australia. Mr. McDonald said: "I hope next Week to have the American Consu 1 - General at Sydney at the microphonp here to join in a demonstration like this."
