WEARING A SCARF.
INDICATIONS OF CHARACTER.
Bpth the wearing of a hat and the wearing of a scarf need grave consideration, for just as the angle at which a hat is worn is an index to one's character, so will the twist of the scarf disclose a trait little guessed at perhaps by the wearer herself.
| Brogue shoes, cashmere stockings, shower-proof coat, a scarf knotted tightly round the throat—surely the wearer is more interested in the serious side of life. Something attempted will always be something done, and really |done well in her case.
Even ends to the scarf, securely tied, the colour toning in well with the tweed coat, whilst the knot placed just at the ibase of the throat to keep out the cold,! denotes the wearer to be methodical,! and leads one to suppose no unnecessary risks will be run.
A gay silk scarf in bright reds, yellows and greens, jauntily tied at the side, makes one feel all's right with the world. The wearer has an tin conscious and infections air of gaiety, which livens a dull day, and makes a sunny one brighter still. Life will never be a great problem, however black things might look; there will always be a silver lining, and if it isn't perceptible at the time she will imagine it to be there, for she has that very lucky gift of always being able to make the best of a bad job. A georgette scarf on a rainy day draggled, grubby. Laziness, thoughtlessness, spring to mind at a bound. Too thoughtless to look out of the window at the weather, and then, too, too lazy to change. Why bother? It'll all be the same in a hundred years. Now, the righl way to wear a scarf is obviously a problem, for to advertise ones deficiencies in so blatant a manner is often rather a severe blow to one's vanity, but still there isn't anything to worry about really, for if you're the right sort of person you'll wear your scarf in just the right sort of way.
