GANG GIRL'S MURDER STORY. i ■ I "It was the hies of death," said Jenny Brookes, the 16-year-old gang girl in a dramatic description of the murder of her lover, Dan O'Leaiy, the gangster, who was shot to death by five men in Philadelphia. ~ , "On the niglht of the murder," said the girl, telling her vivid story of the gang warfare, " 'Danny' had an idea that he wanted to go for a rdde. I saw a large car following us and suspected someone intended to kill him, but we got home aafcly, "I think-we had been asleep for about half an hour when I was awakened by the glare of a flashlight over my face and on poor Danny's sleeping body. "Before I could speak I heard a voice and saw a man's eyes under a cap. Suddenly there came the strangest hissing sound, 'Siet,' Sist,' five times. I didn't know it then, but I soon discovered that they were pumping bullets info Dan's body with a 'silent' gun. "The men ignored me and I couldn't scream. I think I was eo startled that I lost my voice. I waited until they had gone. Then I jumped up and turned on the light. I rushed over to his bed and shook Dan's shoulder. I looked down and saw my hands covered with blood. You see I really loved 'Danny' and I feel sure he loved me."
