WEATHER REPORTS.
BROADCAST FROM WELLINGTON, WELLINGTON, Friday, An extension of the functions of the meteorological branch of the Department of Scientific and of Industrial Research will take effect next week. The director of the Government meteorological office, Dp. E. Kid&on, stated that starting on Jfpvember \ a change will be W<J e ift the system of broadcasting weather reports. The broadcast from the Auckland radio station will be propped, but a, JRore extensive repprt will issued at 8 p.m. (standard time) from the radio station. This issue, in addition to the forecast £nd summary as noyr transmitted, will jgcltide reports of the conditioni ft 4 p.ifl. at 13 New Zealand stations, Norfolk Jsjand, the Chatham Islands, Sydney and Jlpbqrt. Not only will more' precise information of the qvef whole arpa be available, hflt t|ft given will be sufficient to enable a satisfactory weather chart to be drawn. Thus anyone witfc elementary knowledge of meteorology w|ll be able to supplement tha pfpciaT forecast IBfl understand more fully the subsequent changes.
