ROTOITI TIMBER COMPANY. LOSS ON OPERATIONS. The directors of the Rotoiti Timber C'olnpany have just issued a report covrririg a period of 15 months, ended June 30. This shows a, loss of £419. The directors recommend allocation of this amount as follows:—Dividend at 8 per cent on the capital paid up on 365!) preference shares, £182 10/8; and carry forward the balance of £399 16/9.
COMPANY LAW REVISION. At the opening uf• the annual conference j!c %t -Associated Chambers of Commerce r New Zealand at Wellington recently, Sir ■Francia Bell intimated that it was the intontiou of the Government to proceed with a Consolidating Companies Bill after snmlar action had been taken by the Imvr?r' t!ii r ''anient. This was expected next year following; the British amending Act Passed this year. At the last meeting of the council ot the Wellington Chamber of Commerce the opinion was expressed that this procedure was a very wise one, since it was desirable that there should be uniformity in commercial legislation throughout the Lmpi.e; further that the embodiment of similar clauses in the Imperial as well as ni the \ew Zeahind Act would avoid the necessity lor differing interpretations and the Jeual expenses involved thereby, HOTEL TITIRANGI, LTD. The proposal to erect a modern hotel at Titirangi has assumed definite shape through the flotation of a company, Hotel Titirangi. Ltd., with a nominal . capital of- £50,000. The new company, which has already gone to allotment, has • purchased the property and tea room businesh of Mr. W. A.
