WAITEMATA SEAT.

Mr. R. H. Greville, United cnndidate for Waitcmata, addressed a wall attended meeting last evening at the Greenhithe Hall. The candidate dealt at length with the £70,000,000 loan and stressed the point that it would relieve the farmers' nightmare—the short termed, high rate mortgage. New Zealand, he said, was in a position of a company which requirtd further capital to develop its business operations and unless that capital was secured the Dominion would stagnate. Mr. Grevillo dealt with the question of the harbour bridge, and tiaced tie history of the movement. He denied Mr. Harris' claim that he (Mr. Harm) was the father of the movement. "I consider," said Mr. Greville, "that Mr. Harris' claim that he obtained the £500 grant is an insult to the great, baaid of voluntary workers who have done so much towards bringing the bridge movement to a head." (Applause.) The meeting accorded the candidate a most attentive hearing, and passed a vote of thanks and confidence. A comnidttee was set up to further the interests of Mr. Greville's candidature.
