UNEMPLOYMENT.
, THE WEEKLY FIGURES. SLIGHTLY IMPROVED POSITION. A slight improvement in the unemployment position in Auckland is recorded by the Labour Department's bureau this week. There are at present 782 men seeking engagement through this medium, as against 798 last week. Of the former number 658 men arc suitable for heavy work and 124 fit for light labour. During the week the Department succeeded in placing 69 men in positions.
