AT SEVENTY-THREE YEARS.
SEPARATED FROM HUSBAND.
COURT MAKES AN ORDER.
"I am 73 years old, and have worked ever since I had him," said a wife when applying for a separation order with maintenance before Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., at the Magistrates' Court to-day. The wife added: "I found him a home, and had £12 10/ in my purse." Asked if £1 per week was sufficient the applicant countered with: "Do you *hinlr that a fair thing for a woman of 73? I don't want him to come back for one night."
Mr. Culten remarked: There is no doubt that he drinkis, and there is no reason why you should be . compelled to live with your husband while he does drink."
An order was made for separation, with 25/ 'per week maintenance. Counsel for the husband had offered an allowance of 20/ per week.
