"THE USEHOLD."
MR. HOLLAND EXPLAINS.
SPECULATION DENOUNCED.
(By Telegraph—Special 'to "Star.")
WELLINGTON, this day. "What about the usehold?" Mr. H. E. Holland, the Opposition Leader, • was asked when he was briefly outlining the Labour platform to a large and generally friendly audience in the Town w»n
"It is all right," retorted Mr. Holland, "you have to choose between two method*. It must be laid down as an initial principle that whoever wants to hold land in New Zealand must use the land and occupy it. (Applause). That is .the usehold. Those who.don't stand for that Method stand for speculation and gambling in land values, and the Labour pirty will never offer to gamble in land values or anything at all. We have everything to Offer to the man who wants to hold land for the purpose of using that land. That fg the usehold, and: those who oppose it are in favour of speculation in land values."
