:• While llr.. W. Bates, of Te Uku, and a party were motoring to Cain bridge yesterday, hoping to -be in time for the first race, their car collided with a car driven, by Mr. Frank-- Beagley, •of Hamilton, on the Kaglan deviation. NObodywas hurt, bilt e&teusive damage was done tit both vehicles.

Mr.-. Bates and his party- transferred to.a car owned by Mr. G, McKay, of To Uku, but they had gone only a few yards when one -Of the front wheel's collapsed. The occupants then pushed the'«ar to the scene of their former acdideht and changed a wheel from Sir. Bales' car to Mr. McKay's. They Cambridge two hours late.
