NEW YORK, October 22.

. At Madison Garden Ouafi, the Arabian king of Olympic marathon runners, who won at the Olympic Games at Amsterdam, covered 26 miles 400 yards in 2b 44m, defeating Joie Ray by three laps.

It was Kay's first professional marathon and the fifth of his career. He kept on Ouafi's heels for 23 miles, while the other contestants were miles behind.

The Arsenal Club has paid the Bolton Wanderers £10,000 for the transfer of David Jack, the international inside right.
