DUNLOP RUBBER COMPANY
LOSS OF £31,432.
As was anticipated in the preliminary statement issued by the directors of the Dunlop Rubber Company of Australia, the operations of the past year resulted in a heavy loss. The net loss now reported by the directors is £36,452. The directors state that the results were brought about partly by adverse trade conditions, but chiefly by the heavy fall in the price of rubber, which necessitated the writing down of stocks of raw material and finished goods. The company has sold its New Zealand business to the English Dunlop Rubber Company, and the new entry in the balant&sheet of "assets in course of relisation £138,029," relates to this transaction.
The directors state that assets have been subjected to searching valuations by independent experts. This has been done because of the necessity, in view of the negotiations for an amalgamation with the Perdriau Rubber Company of Sydney, of having a basis on which terms for the merger could be discussed. Directors »n their report make no allusion to these negotiations, so thajf it would appear as if settlement has net yet been reached. NSW COMPANIES. Selectra Radio, Ltd.
