"DUE TO POISONING."
MAN'S DEATH IN COUNTRY.
BODY FOUND IN HOUSE
''Death due to poisoning," was the verdict returned at an inquest held yesterday morning before Mr. C. G. Sandin, J.P., and a jury, into the death of Mr. Frank Carter, a single man, aged 46, who was found dead in his house, about three miles from Waimauku, on Saturday.
On Friday and Saturday Carter failed to appear at the house of Mr. R. J. Flett, a neighbour from whom he used to get milk. On Saturday Mr. Flett visited Carter's house, thinking he might be ill. When he arrived the door was partly open, and on entering'he found Carter dead on the floor. Dr. S. Harris, of Kumeu, and a constable from Helensville, were summoned.
Mr Carter appeared in good health when last seen on Friday morning. Nothing was known of his relatives, but it was learned through IYA broadcasting station, with which Mr. L. T, Buxton postmaster at Waimauku, got into' touch, that they were in Wellington.
