At the regular meeting of the Otaua Drainage^Board, Mr. A. B. Ghezzi presided. Mr. R. Neil reported that he had put men on to clean Walter's and McCarthy's drains, and that the work was near completion. Mr. Ballantine submitted a plan of the drain in dispute, opposite Mr. Crawford's property, to enable the clerk to place the same before the Drainage Board Association for its opinion; in this connection a deputation waited upon the board, requesting that something should be done to afford them relief from flooding. After a long discussion the deputation agreed to wait upon the various owners concerned, and ascertain how much each would be willing to contribute annually for ten years, towards the cost of keeping the drain clean, and to have a proper agreement drawn up so as to make it binding upon tliem. Mr. D. Neil was authorised to have the 10ft drain cleared of roper weed. Accounts amounting to £43 19/4 were passed for payment.
