WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.

GREENSLADE—ELLERBY.

On Tuesday last at Horopito a wedding took place at the residence of Mr. Robert William Ellerby when his daughter, Marion Gillard Ellerby, was married to Vernon Greenslade, of Raetihi. Miss Peggy Ellerby, sister of the bride, made a charming bridesmaid, and Mr. K. Guthrie, acted as best man. The ceremony was performed by Rev. H. Datson, of Raetihi. The bride and bridegroom left after the ceremony to take up their future residence at Rangataua.

SPENSE—SCOTT. The Baptist Church, Royal Oak, was the scene of a pretty wedding on October 10, when Delia Constance, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Scott, Thames, was married to Melville Lancelott, only son of Mr. and Mrs. James Spense, late of Stanley Bay. The Rev. Mr. Busfleld was the officiating minister. The church was tastefully decorated by friends of the young couple. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her uncle, Mr. George Gibb, looked charming in a dainty gown of ivory georgette with silver decoration. Her beautiful hand-embroidered veil was held in place by a coronet of orange bossoms, and she carried a beautiful shower bouquet of white carnations, sweet peas and maidenhair. Miss Nellie Scott, 6ister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid, her gown being salmon pink crepe de chine, and headdress of tulle. She also carried a beautiful bouquet of mauve sweet peas, irises and maidenhair. Mr. Clifford Lloyd acted as best man. The "Wedding March" was supplied by Mrs. E. Mead. The reception was afterwards held at the residence of Mrs. E. Mead. MARSH—BURGESS. The wedding took place at St. Mark's Church, Te Aroha, on Wednesday of Ivy Beatrice, third daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. Burgess, of Te Aroha, and John Marsh, of Timaru, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Marsh, of Auckland. The Rev. R. T. Connolly officiated. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother,. Mr. D. Burgess, was charmingly attired in a sleeveless frock of ivory satin, with a draped skirt of rich lace, caught up with orange blossoms and silver tissue. The scolloped veil was beautifully hand-embroidered, and was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms, and fell from the shoulders, forming a long train. She carried a shower bouquet of choice flowers and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her sister, Miss Ellen Burgess, and Miss Ila Crosby, as bridesmaids, the former wearing a pretty shell pink frock, beautifully embroidered, and the latter a frock of lilac embroidered with silver. Both wore tulle bandeaux relieved with flowers, and carried beautiful bouquets of hothbuse flowers. Mr. E. Firken, of Timaru, acted as best man.
