In the final of the professional chagi. pionship, over the first 18 holes, A. Shaw is 3 up on J. Mcintosh. Shaw west round in 73, and Mcintosh in 75.
In the semi-final of the amateur chant, pionship K. Ross is 3 up on T. H. Hot. ton. Ross went round in 74, and Hortoa in 77. J. L. Black is 1 up on J. G. IX Duncan. Black did 7S, and Duncan 84.
In the Shaw-Mclntosh match tha latter lost the second and fourth, and Shaw lost the seventh, Shaw being 009 up at the turn, to which he took 37. At the tenth Shaw holed a 2 from the bunker. Mcintosh lost the fourtlieentfc and sixteenth, and Show last the eigfe. teenth, leaving him 3 up.
Ross and Horton played perfect golf. Their driving is mechanically accurate and Horton's approaching is deadly, bnt Ross is the better on the greens. Therv should be a close finish.
Duncan and Black are playing a patchy game, and there is very little between them. There was only one between them till the 14th, when Dim. can struck trouble and lost the hole, but reduced the lead to 1 at the end of tin round.
The weather is improving for % afternoon's play.
