CRITICISM AT PjAHIATUA.

PAHTATUA, Thursday,

Rather pessimistic. comment on the recent Rugby season was made at a Rugby Union meeting, which considered the loss on the season's operation. The secretary said that football this year had been "awful," and the worst he had seen for five years.

"It has been dynamite," remarked the chairman. The secretary said that unless the standard was good the public would not attend.

It was generally conceded that play had been of a very low standard everywhere, with the exception of in the Wairarapa. It wa6 thought that a proposal for the introduction of the Saturday half-holiday would be welcomed by most people, and would be a big boon for local football.
