GREYMOUTH CLUB.

CUP CANDIDATES ENGAGED.

More than passing inteerst will centre in the Greymouth Trotting Club s meeting to-morrow because in the Greymouth Handicap, 12$ furlongs, no less than eight New Zealand Cup candidates are engaged. As a guide to selecting the winner of the big race next month, the race to-morrow is perhaps not of great importance, but it will give an indication of the form the Cup horses are in to finish off their preparation. The handicap is a fairly tight one and year's winner, Cardinal Logan, is bound to be in demand as he can go brilliantly up to a mile and a half. J. Brvce has both Ahuriri and Imprint engaged, and according to reports Imprint is a likely winner of the Cup. If this is so, then he must go well to-morrow, although a further journey than 12A furlongs would be more to his liking. Peter Bingen reads well treated on 12yds and he and Cardinal Logan may be the favourites to-morrow.
