After over forty years absence from Auckland, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mettam are staying in the city for a short period. On Tuesday a few friends gave them a surprise luncheon at their daughter's charming cottage, Rocky Nook. The sitting-room was decorated with some beautiful pink roses and golden brown gillie flowers, and the luncheon table with old fashioned bluebells and forget-me-nots. A very pleasant time was spent talking over old times. Some of the old identities will remember the Mettam Bros., who were well-known on the concert platiform fifty years ago.
