VOLUNTEERS "ON STRIKE." OBJECTION TO AN APPOINTMENT. 1 (From Our Own Correspondent.) WAJLtti, Wednesday. The majority of the members of the Waihi Volunteer Fire Brigade are said to be "on strike." Hence the action pf the board in appointing Mr, S.~ Shergold (borough foreman) as deputy superintendent. At a meeting of- members of the brigade Mr. Stamp gained a majority of three votes over Mr. "Shergold for the office. y -
