PERCEPTION AGAIN SOLD.

ELLERSLIE TRAINJNG NOTES. THE SPRING MEETING. LAUGHING PRINCE GOES WELL. BENZORA AND NANCY LEE SPRINT PAST. Fine though dull weather prevailed at Ellerslie this morning for training operations. No. 1 grass track was in use and it provided good going. The hurdles and steeplechase track were also open and there was quite a lot of interesting work. No. i Grass Track. Catkin was the first to work and ran half a mile in 52 l-ss. King Emerald went a round being picked up by Gold Money at t-lie sixfurlong post. They finished together, the round being run in 2.1, and the last six furlongs in 1.24 2-5. Salamander, Optimistic and War Officer ran five furlongs in 1.7. xhere was little between them when the post was reached. Sir Archie (Chaplin) went a round in 1.58, the final six furlongs being run in 1.22 2-5. Star Stranger (Wiggins), Mask (Rayner), Valkon (Manson) and Mint Leaf ( Golds boro - ) finished in the above order over a round, which they ran in 1.52 2-5. They ran the last mile in 1.43 2-5 and the final half-mile in 545. Star Stranger was last for the greater portion of the way, but came on the outside as they turned for home and was doing it nicely at the finish, Mask also went well, but he had tlie best of the weights. Sleepy Sol was timed to run home from the half-mile post in 535. Red Lion and Cat-e-mes were on terms at the end of six furlongs run in 1.21 1-5. The former was going nicely at the finish. Episode was in front of Lysander and Vivo at the end of six furlongs run in 1.17 3-5. The Guineas candidate worked well. The best half-mile of the morning was registered by Benzora and Nancy Leei who ran 49 4-ss. They had some pace on when they jumped away, but still it was a good performance. Nurjahan finished in front of Kawainga and Miss Alma at the end of half a mile in 52 l-ss. They went from practically a standing start. Golden Wedding, Respirator, and Restaurant was the order at the end of a six furlong gallop in 1.20 1-5. Eager Rose and Winsome Boy ran six furlongs in 1.19. There was little between them, at the finish. Modest troy was worked aver a round, running the last mile in 1.56 3-5. Ohinemuri and Valda were timed to run their last five furlongs in 1.7, the first-named, who was on the outside, showing to most advantage. Winsome Girl ran home from the halfmile post in 52 4-ss. Corinax and Bombarder covered six furlongs in 1.19 3-5, the former pleasing most. Cashier strode over six furlongs in 1.22. He could have done better. There was noc much between High Falutin' and Royal Lineage at the end of a seven-furlong gallop In 1.32 1-5. Master Leigh ran home from the halfmile post in 51 3-ss.

Marita was given strong work, traversing his last six furlongs in 1.24 1-5. Vallar ran from the seven-furlong post to the three-furlong post in 53 2-ss. He went very fast over the first three furlongs.

Kaiti sprinted three furlongs in 395. Metallus was not doing his best to run home from the six-furlong peg in 1.22 3-5.

Laughing Prince was sent over a round, which he completed in 1.51 4-5. He ran the last sewn furlong* i n 1.31 4-5, and the last six in 1.19 2-5. The final half-mile was covered in 53 2-ss. This was the best gallop over the distance during the morning. Freehold covered five furlongs in 1.7 4-5, the last four taking 51 3-ss, and the final three furlongs 37 4-ss. He looks all the better for his race last Saturday. White Fang (Potter) was sent over a mile. He ran the first two furlongs in 24 3-ss, the half-mile in 49 4-ss, five furlongs in 1.3 1-5, and the full distance in 1.46.

After Breakfast. Sir Russell was too good for Lomint at the end of six furlongs, run in 1.17 4-5. They ran the first two in 26 2-ss, and three in 38 l-ss. Bulolo and Monetize finished together at the end of six furlongs, run in 1 99. They could have done better. Young Thuraham defeated Cui Bono over a round in 2.1 1-5. Lido was too good for Wye at the end of a four-furlong task in 52 4-ss. Jvaramu ran a furlong further in 1.9 3-5. -T a £°. San, who is looking improved after his race on Saturday last, stfode home from the half-mile post in 545. Bizarro wept a round in 1.57 4-5. Gay Cockade joined him at the five-furlong post, and ran home in 1.7 3-5. Hoariri was to have gone four furlongs with Taneriri, but he broke away in front and ran home in 51s, Taneriri taking 53s for the same journey. Blue Spear sprinted home from the four-furlong post in 525. Master Clements was given a run over six furlongs, which he covered in 1.22. Glenotus was given strong work over a round, but was not timed. he J£ ox appeared to be going better than Killute at the finish of a six-fur-long gallop in 1.21 1-5. Violation was given strong work, running home the last six furlongs in 1 22 Mountain Guide, Lady's Boy and Bennie were in that order at the conclusion of a three-furlong task in 38 2-5. Abbot's Delight completed a threefurlong task in 40s, and Harbour View covered six furlongs in 1.20. The Course Proper (one trestle out). First Money (Potter) and Hunting Day (Wiggins) were _ companions in a halfmile sprint, which they covered in 50 2-ss. They finished together, both galloping well throughout. Clever was also sent over half a mile, which she completed in 52 l-ss. She went very freely, and could have done better. Alloy and Ceremony, and Neil and Blue Grey, were sprinted down the straight on the course proper. Lady Suzanne a»d Rose Mint, a two-year-oIJ filly by Catmint from Lady Bede, were given a run from the threefurlong post. They were not ridden out, 'but Lady Suzanne pleased most.
