LOCAL BODIES.

MOUNT EDEN. —— i The Mount Eden Borough Council met last evening, the Deputy-Major (Mr. A. M. Bryden) presiding. The building inspector reported that during September building permits of a total value of £6711 were issued, inclusive of four dwellings valued at £3350. A donation of £2 was made to the Auckland Normal School Parents' Association. . A communication was received from tn« Auckland City Council suggesting co-oper-ation in regard to town planning. It waa resolved to discuss the matter with the City Council, a preliminary report by 'ie borough engineer being referred to the Finance Committee. The foreman reported that the work of preparing Nicholson Park was well in hand and that the rockery round the children's playground had been completed. A time table for the Mount Eden swimming batbs was approved, providing for mixed bathing on three nights weekly and for specified hours on Sundays and holidays.
