Bartram pleads in the House of Representatives for the construction of an up-to-date post office building at Grey Lynn. It has become an annual joke. This session he has already sought a post otfiee building for his electorate, but he returned to the attack this morning, a few minutes before 2 o'clock. Mr. Bartram drew attention to the public buildings vote on the Estimates, providing £250 for the Grey Lynn Post Office site (on account), but "the Chairman of Committees, Mr. F. F. Hocklv brought him up with a round turn by stating, "That is last year's vote. There is no vote at all this year." (Loud laughter.) Mr. Bartram: Well, sir, what about this vote— £3000 for buildings and sites not specified. Is Grey Lynn contained in that? There was a time when there was _a substantial vote for Grev Lvnn, but it was never spent, and now it" has disappeared. lam tired of being humbugged. The Minister of Public Works (the Hon. K. S. Williams) assured Mr. Bartram that there was no intention of humbugging the people of the district. Investigations were now being made with the object of finding a suitable site.
