STOCK SALES.
KING COUNTRY. Dalgctj und Company. Limited, Tc Ku iti, report having held their usual fortnightly sales at Taumarunui and Otorohanga. There was a very keen demand for all elas.se.s of sheep and also for fat and store cattle. Pigs, however, were very dull of sale. Taumarunui Sale.—There was a fair yarding of sheep which consisted mainly of hoggets. These sold under very keen competition at the following prices: — Best ewes hoggets, 38/10; others, 29/ to 35/; wether hoggets. 28/ to 30/; small inferior mixed sex hoggets, 23', 23/10 to 25/'. Cattle were yarded iu small numbers, but sold under very keen competition at advanced rates. Fat cows, £8 to £10; store cows. £3 10/ to £5; inferior yearling steers, £3 10/ to £4 10/; good yearling S.H. heifers, £4; small mixed coloured heifers, £3 10/, £3 15/ to £3 17/6; S.H. cows, r.w.b., £5 5/to £6 12/. Dairy cattle were yarded in fair numbers and sold readily. Best heifers close to profit, £9 to £11; others, £7 to £8; inferior and backward, £5 10/ to £7.
Otorohanga Sale.—There was a very large yarding of cattle, principally bullocks. Buyers were present in very large numbers from all parts of the Waikato, and as far south as Palmerston North. The competition for bullocks was somewhat slack and the bulk of the yarding 'as passed under the hammer, but a fair number were sold privately afterwards. We quote fat ewes, 34/9. Account G. W. Richards, 10 just billable 4 and 5-year bullocks, 10 ditto 3-year bullocks, £13/ and £12 10/ respectively; 10 4-year fresh conditioned bullocks, £11 and seven at £10 10/; 4-year S.H. steers in fair condition, £9, £9 5/, £9 10/, £9 15/; 4-year Friesian bullocks in store condition, £7 17/6 to £7 19/. A pen of 32 exceptionally well grown yearling S.H. steers, £6 3/; other yearling steers, £4, £4 5/ to £4 9/; fair yearling Jersey heifers, £?, £5 3/ to £5 13/; fair mixed coloured j cal ling heifers, £3, £3 5/, £3 8/, £3 10/ to £4 10/; fat cows, £8 to £10; emtpv store cows, £3 10/, £4, £4 7/, £4 9/ to £5 19/; dairy cows heifers close to profit, £9, £9 10/, £9 15/ and heifers were the subject of keen competition; best cows, £9 to £12; good to £10; smaller heifers, £7 5/, £7 10/ to £8; backward heifers, £5' £5 15/, £6 to £7 10/; 2-year bulls, £7 7/ to £9 9/. FEILDING. FEILDING, Friday. High prices again ruled at the Feilding stock sale to-day. A good yarding of fat sheep attracted stroug bidding. Fat hoggets made from 32/1 to 37/6, a poorer line of black face hoggets, 29/1; ewes, 29/6 to 38/3; one choice prime wether, 56/6; lines of wethers, 36/ to 45/6; store black face hoggets, 2S/7; wether hoggets, 31/'; ewe hoggets, 33/4; ewes with lambs, to 51/6; other lines at 48/6: store wethers. 29/0. There was a heavy yarding of dairy cattle and a light yarding of fat cattle. Springing heifers made from £9 to £15; springing cows, Jerseys, £5 5/ to £11 10/; cows in milk. £7 to £9 10/: yearling heifers, £5 2/6; Polled bulls, £10 10/ to £11 11/; Jersey bulls, £10 10/; cows, £3 2/6; bullocks, £9: steers, £0 10/; heifers, fat, £6 10/ to £10; cows, £7 to £15.
