Hunt, S.M., when Arthur George Johnson wa« charged at the Police Court this morning with having caused wilful damage to property to the value of £8 9/. Chief Detective Cummings said that on August 18 accused went home under the influence of liquor, and, as his wife was out, he went to a neighbour's, where he expected to find her. Upon being disappointed he vented hLs. feelings by going into the sitting room, where he damaged a gramophone, records and pictures. "He evidently thought *hifi wife was being enticed away from home. He was under the influence of liquor," said Mr. Hammond. Mr. Hunt: You will be fined 20/, and will have to pay for this. How long do you want? —Two months. "No. You didn't take a couple of months to smash up the property." "Can I have my name suppressed?"— "No."
