LAWN TENNIS.
TO TURN PROFESSIONAL. GODFREY OLLIVIER'S DECISION. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. Decision to turn professional has been reached by Mr. Godfrey Ollivier, the men's singles lawn tennis champion of New Zealand. His intention is to take up coaching in Canterbury after the visit of the English tennis team in October. In that case he will not defend his singles title, which he has held for a record number of years, beating the record of H. A. Parker. Mr. Ollivier's decision will be hailed with-great satisfaction by all who would like to take advantage of his great fund of tennis knowledge while he is at the height of his career. It is possible that he will be coach to the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association and possibly the clubs will be circularised in connection with the matter.
