ATHLETICS.
THE MAUKU CLUB. I'IKIIKOHE. Tuesday. The annual meeting of the Mauku Athletic Club was held in the Paturuahue Hall, with Mr. R. Coin-laud, vice-president, presiding. The financial statement for the past year, suhmititcd l\v the retiririj; secretary. Mr. A. Wright, showed a credit balance of £38 15/. all increase of Elfi for the year. Th<- election of officers resulted:—Patron, Mr. K. I'. McLennan. M.P. : vice-patrons. Messrs. T. I>. Bailey. 11. Wily. A. Parris. W. Howe, W. Lutty. F. Perkins, and W. Hood; president, Mr. W. K. Johns: vice-presidents, Messrs. T. Short and H. Sheppard; secretary and treasurer. Mr. H. B. Walker: delegate to Northern Athletic t'nion, Mr. W. Finlay ; hon. solicitor, Mr. M. B. Grierson ; auditor. Mr. R. F. Brown. It was decided to hold the annual sports tys usual on New Year's Day, and an offer by Mr. R. K. Membery of the use of his -round for the purpose was accepted with thanks. The following sports officials were appointed:—Local handicappers, Messrs. G. H. Black and W. Sommerville; starter, Mr. w. Finlay; assistant-starter, Sir. C. G. Stichiburjr.
