GREAT NORTHERN DERBIES.

ALTERATION IN CONDITIONS.

In the booklet setting out the programmes of the Auckland Trotting Club for the present season also appears conditions governing the Great Northern Derbies of 1929 and 1930, and it is important that owners should not that they vary somewhuf as compared to the conditons which applied to the Derby to be run next October, and for which all payments have been made.

In the 1929 Derby, to be run at the summer meeting, and for which entries have already closed, there are still two payments to be made, and these take the form of an ordinary acceptance, in that those owners wishing to continue their engagements must notify the club of the intention to do so, otherwise the engagement ceases. The first forfeit of £1 falls due on Friday, November 23, the date of general entry for the 1928 summer meeting, but the second forfeit of £2 is due on general entry day of the spring meeting, 1929. AH horses remaining in after the latter day are in for the full subscription of £10, which must be paid on general entry day for the summer meeting of 1929. In other words, owners are called upon to accept for their candidates on two occasions.

In connection with the 1930 Great Northern Derby there are four payments. General entries (£1) close on Friday, June 7, a first payment of £2 falls on general entry day for the 1929 summer meeting, a second payment of £2 on general entry day for the 1930 spring meeting, and a final payment of £0 on general entry day for the 1930 summer day. The point owners must bear in mind is that notification of intention to continue the engagement must be made to the secretary.
