WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.

PEARSON—OSBORNE. The wedding of Jessie, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Osborne, of Onehunga, to Mr. C. Pearson, of Putaruru, was celebrated at St. David's Church yesterday afternoon. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory silk crepe de cliine, with silver lace vandyked into the bodice and the hem of the skirt. The tulle embroidered veil was pleated at the back of the head, and held in place by a strand of orange blossoms, then fell to form the train. She carried a sheaf of lilies. The bridesmaid, Miss Gwen Osborne, wore an eau de nil georgette gown, with pastel pink overdress of lattice work. The boiiquet and bandeau headdress matched her frock. Mr. A. •Jackson was the best man. The Rev. D. D. Scott officiated.

BUTCHER—RICHARDS. Miss Leila Richards, youngest daughter of Mr. T. Richard?, of Onehunga, and Charles Hastings, only son of Mr, and Mrs. Butcher, of Devonport, were married yesterday afternoon at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The Rev. Wingfield, of Devonport, performed the ceremony. Entering the church with her father, the bride wore a dainty gown of ivory chenille embossed georgette. The billowy embossed tulle veil was draped at the head, and held in place by a chaplet of orange blossoms, then fell, forming a long train. A beautiful shower bouquet of white roses,, freesias and sweet peas was carried. A bridesmaid and little flower girl followed, the former, Miss Eva Herdigan, in a palm forest green georgette, the skirt having fine bands of lace inset. A biege tulle bandeau, with large bow at one side, was her headdress, and she carried a beautiful pink and mauve shaded bouquet. Margaret Dixon, the little flower girl, wore a blush pink georgette frock with ruched ribbons I round the skirt, and carried a primrose I posy. Mr. James Bodie attended as best man.

CHILES—BURNNAND. St. Matthew's Church wns the setting last evening for the wedding of Doris Muriel, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. I. Burnnand. of Epsom, and Arthur Ford Chiles, of Maihiihi, Otorohanga, Entering on her father's arm, the bride was a dainty figure in ivory satin. The bodice was mid-Victorian, with an uneven-hem skirt, made in scallops, to show a wide silver lace panel down the front, with true lovers' knots of pearls worked 011 the skirt. A beautiful net veil with large sprays of lilies worked in silks formed the train, and was draped round the head and held in place by a strand of orange blossom buds. She carried a large shower bouquet of white hyacinths, roses and carnations, with silver streamers. Two bridesmaids and two little flower girls followed. The former were Miss Edna Burnnand, sister of the bride, In forest green georgette, the skirt having three tiers, each vandycked and picot-edged. and Miss Irene Khodes, in a handkerchief draped briar rose georgette and silver lace. The litlte flower

girls, Phoebe and Nellie Daniels,, were dressed alike in pastel blue georgette trimmed with rosebuds. All wore petalled. tricolina bandeau headdresses and carried shower bouquets and posies to match their gowns. The bride's brother, Mr. G. C. Bunmand, was best man, the bridegroom's brother, Mr. S. M. Chiles, being groomsman. The Rev. Carew Thomas officiated. A reception was held at the Renrith rooms after the ceremony, which were decorated in pink, blue and green, to match the maids' frocks. Mrs. Burnnand wore a black Milanese silk gown embroidered in gold, satin hat, with wreath of cyclamen flowers, and carried a bouquet of violets and cyclamen. The bridegroom's mother wore silver grey gabardine suit with a hat to tone and earried a bouquet of violets. Mrs. Parkes was in hyacinth erepe de chine; Mrs. Alex. Harvey, black niarocain and Oriental embroideries; Mrs. W. Thompson, fawn crepe de chine and hat to tone; Mrs. McGregor, biscuit georgette and laee; Mrs. Parker, rose crepe lido; Mrs. Lightfoot, beige crepe de chine; Miss McGregor, eud de nil radium silk, large lily of the valley shoulder posy; Miss Monney, beige crepe fleuri; Miss Hawley, rose crepe lido; Miss Parker, cyclamen georgette.
