CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday.
The sixth annual conference of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture was held to-day. The following officers were elected:—President, Mr. P. J. Nathan (Palmerston North); vicepresidents, Dr. T. H. Easter-field (Nelson), Messrs. D. A. Hay (Auckland), T. K. Sidey (Dunedin), P. Black (Manawatu), W. D. Sherratt (Gisborne), J. G. Mackenzie (Wellington), C. E. Foweraker (Christchurch); executive, Professors G. S. Peren and H. B. Kirk, Dr. E. Marsden, Messrs. D. Wall, T. C. Brash, A. H. Cockayne, J. A Campbell, T. Waugh, H. Ballis, R. B. Hammond, W. R. B. Oliver, F. S. Pope, B. C. Aston, L. A. Jones and Hope Gibbons. The following were made honorary Fellows of the institute:—Hon. G. M. Thomson, Mr. J. A. Campbell (New Zealand), Lord Lambourne (England), and Mr. L. H. Bailey (United States).
