BY-LAW OFFENDERS.
MOTORISTS XH COURT. DANGEROUS DRIVING CHARGES. Fines for breaches of the city traffic by-laws were imposed upon numerous motorists at the Magistrate's Court this morning. The charges were brought by Mr. G. Hogan, chief traffic inspector of the Auckland City Council, and were heard before Messrs. Rickerby and King, J.P.'s. The offences were:— Failure to obey a traffic officer's signal: A. Grange, N. W. Bowden, and J. E. Hansen, each £1 and costs; C. H. Adams, convicted and ordered to pay costs. Dangerous driving: P. W. Atkinson, £4 and costs; A. E. Chalton, £5 and costs; N. Harley, £2 and costs; F. A. Sanft, £3 and costs; H. Eaton, £4 and costs; C. G. Jordan, £5 and costs; C. W. Bruce, £3 and costs; J. D. P. French, £4 and costs; E. O. Faber, £2 and costs. No headlights: A. E. Odlin, £1 and costs. Vehicle standing without lights, E. S. Day, 10/ and costs. Motor cyclists without lights: T. Langwell, C. S. Over W. T. Pitcher, P. Stone, G. H. G. McBride, K. E. Adams, each 10/ and costs. Car standing in zone area, M. G. D. Fort, £1 and costs.
Five charges were brought by Mr. D. StoTipe, traffic inspector of the Mount Albert Borough Council, for riding bicycles without lights: A. C. Curtis, F. E. Scarrott, S. Solomon and Thorpe, each 10/ and costs, and J. Paul, £1 and costs.
