LOST IN BUSH.
YOUNG WOMAN'S EXPERIENCE. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. When seeking ferns in the dense bosh on the Rosemont estate yesterday, Miss Edna Willeocks, of Whau Vallejr, was lost for several hours. Accompanied by her brother, Arthur, Miss Willcocks was returning down a steep gully, through which ran a stream. Thinking she would save herself unnecessary clambering. Miss Willcocks set off on the top track, while her brother followed the stream at the foot of the gully. Miss Willcocks disappeared, and her brother became anxious. His call* were drowned by the noise of a nearby waterfall. It was then shortly before four o'clock, and Mr. Willeocks remained in the vicinity until dusk, when he returned home and notified the neighbours of his sister's disappearance. He then set out with Mr. George Kehoe to start another search. The pair were armed | with a shot-gun, which was discharged lat intervals, and the searchers became confused by the shouts of other parties. Shortly "after 9 o'clock, when in the vicinity of the waterworks reserve, some distance from where she was last seen, Miss Willcocks was found again. She had wandered into another gully. When the party, numbering seven, was 'returning home a torch failed, and it was three hours before they finally got out of the bush. *
Miss Willeocks «u not greatly In jured by her experience, but w u uaabl* to leave her room to-day.
