ARE THEY MILLINERS?
HAT "SHAPE" MAKERS, COURT ASKED TO DECIDE. 'Tt looks to me as if the time will soon come when vvc will have to have awards for shop milliners and factory milliners and split the present award, similar to that of the tailoresses 5 award," said Mr. Justice Frazer, president of the Arbitration Court, thi-* morning, after hearing Mr. S. E. Wrght. secretary o; the Employers' Association, and Miss A. Cossey, secretary of the Milliners' Unio-i on the question.
The Court, which reserved its dre : sion, was asked to decide whether L.ir manufacturers and body shape tinisher:ind milliners were one and the same thing.
Miss Cossey advocated that the who..of the work should be classed as mil. i linery, and she appealed against the j decision of Mr. P. Rally, Conciliation j Commissioner, who had held that hat | shape makers and body makers should j not be under the milliners' award. The Employers' Association supported this latter contention.
