OBITUARY.

MR. S. J. BOLTON. (By Tele?rapb—Press Association.) DAXXEVIRKE, this day. Mr. Samuel James Bolton, who had been postmaster at Dannevirke for years, died to-day after a brief illness. He took a keen interest in military matters, and was connected with the volunteers and the territorials for many years. He was a. lieutenant-colonel in the Army Pay Corps of the N.Z.H.F.. serving at Gallipoli and in Egypt. France and Germany, and at Base Kecords. England. IJe was (he holder ■of an 0.15. E. for bravery in the danger zone, lie was gashed while on active service. He leaves a widow, a s,,n and a da tighter.
