BANKRUPT SEAMAN.
MANY DEBTS, NO ASSETS. CAX MAKE XO OFFEE. Possessing nothing at all, but owin£ debts shown in his schedule amounting to £200. Knud Wilhelra Julius Larsen, a bankrupt seaman, met three of several creditors at. the office of the Official Assignee (Mr. G. X. Morris) this morning. In his signed statement bankrupt said that, in partnership with another he bought a launch, and a barge was rented from the Auckland Harbour Board at £30 a month. On the second trip the barge capsized and it was then decided to dissolve the partnership, the launch and debts being taken over by bankrupt. He sold the launch, paid off some of his debts, and then bought, another launch, but the venture had also turned out a failure. He was now working as a seaman and from his earnings of £20 a month had to pay £3 10/ a week for the maintenance of his wife and five children. He was not in a position to make any offer to his creditors. Arising out of questions by the Official Assignee, debts other than those shown in bankruptos schedule brought the amount up to £300. He said he had hopes of getting some money from his father's estate, his father having died in Denmark four years ago at the a<*e of llti. e It was decided to allow any further examination to stand over pending inquiries being made as to whether bank" nipt would get any monev from his iather s estate.
