OHINEMURI MINES.
PUBLIC CRUSHER PROPOSED. ANNUAL MEETING OF UNION. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI. this day. The animal meeting of the Ohinemuri Mine? and Batteries' Union wa< held last evening. It was resolved that men receiving miners' pensions should remain on the books of the union as financial members and be entitled to all the privileges. The following officers Mere elected: President, Mr. E. Dye (reelected): vice-president, Mr. L. Carpenter; workmen's inspector and secretary. Mr. W. Bice (re-elected for the sixth term); treasurer. Mr. E. Lyndon: trustees. Mr. H. Pipe and Air. P. Murphy; committee. Messrs. I'. MeC'omiell, T. Barker, ft. Matthews. C. -T. Cooper, T. McNamara. J. F. Porter, TI. Chilver*. D. Fa hey and .1. R. Sleveen (with three more to be elected from Waikino). The next meeting of the eonmiittee that was appointed by the mining conference at Paeroa to urge the establishment of a public crush inn plant in the Ohinemuri district- will be held in Waihi on Monday when proposals submitted by the Rising Sun Company, will be finally discussed, after which a deputation will visit Wellington for the purpose of submitting a scheme for the consideration of the Government. Mr. E. Dye. president of the Miners' Union, lias been added to the district committee, which is thoroughly representative of the whole of Ohinemuri.
