THE DEVONPORT WHARF.
Perfect as the new Devonport wharf may seem, there is one thing that has escaped notice up till the present. I say till the present because it was just last Saturday that I made the discovery which I feel compelled to point ou t- I refer to the lack of an iron or wooden railing bordering the town side of the vehicular ferry wharf. All that exists at the present moment is a concrete kerbing which is about a foot high. I myself had a very narrow escape from being drawn over into the water last Saturday, when one of my horses commenced to shy and get somewhat out of control. lam writing this letter to ensure the safety and protection of horses, Fords other sensitive beasts while crossing the harbour—to sav nothing of the unfortunate driver. * - LIMERICK.
