TE AROHA.
At an extraordinary general meeting of the Te Aroha Agricultural and Paßtoral Association, called to consider the reerection of buildings destroyed by a recent gale, it was decided to adopt the report of a committee set up to make special recommendations in this direction. Fortyseven members of the association were allotted districts in which to canvass for funds. It was also resolved to confer with sports organisations regarding the lay-out of football fields and athletic and cycling tracks..
Mr. F. E. Hughes has been nominated for a seat on the Pinko County Council rendered vacant by the death of Mr. J. Fitzgerald. Mr. Hughes has had considerable service ou local bodies.
TE AWAMUTU.
At the annual mooting of tho To Awninutu Chamber of Commerce, tlio election of officers for the current year resulted : — President, Mr. C. 0. Downes; vice-presi-dent. Mr. J. Oil pliant : auditor. Air. A. U. Warburton ; council, Messrs. F. W. Bev'.n, S. Clark, K. A. Coyne, G. W. Mairs, D. T. B. McArthur, H. C. Rainey, and -\V. Jeffery.
TE PUKE.
Tho Ladles' flub hold a bridge party in aid of club"funds, at which there were over 00 guest*. Mrs. J. Ball acted as hostess, assisted by the- committee and some of the members. Tho prizes for the best cards wore won by Mrs. Hiokson and Mr. Charles Ball : consolation prizes went to Mrs. \V. Wickham and Mr. A. Budd.
