CONFERENCE IN AUCKLAND. SHOW DATES AND OTHER MATTERS. Seven agricultural and pastoral associations in the Auckland province were represented at a conference held in the Auckland A. and P. Association's rooms to-day. Mr. W. W. Massey, president of the Auckland A. and P. Association, presided, and the following were present: Mr. H. Cater (Upper Wairoa), Mr. C. W. Anderson, and Mr. Alex. D. Bell (Auckland), Mr. D. M. Bryan (Clevedon), Mr. H. E. Kisling and Mr. E. Allen (Franklin Association), Mr. Jas. Ward (Te Aroha), Mr. C. P. Butler (Whangarei), and Mr. Jas. Baxter (Waikato). After a considerable discussion the recommendation of the North Island A and P. Conference that an Auckland Provincial Council should be set up, was unanimously adopted. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. W. W. Massey (Auckland); vice-presi-dents, Mr. J. M. Baxter (Waikato) and Mr. C. P. Butler (Whangarei). executive committee, Mr. R. S. Allen (Franklin), Mr. D. M. Burgan (Clevedon), and Mr. J. Ward (Thames Valley); secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. F. O'DonnelL

Delegates decided, to submit to their councils for confirmation the following show dates: Auckland, November 22, 23 and 24; Thames Valley, November 27 and 28; Whangarei, November 28 and 29. These three show dates were the only ones in dispute; the others had already been fixed. "That agricultural and pastoral societies should be enabled to finance their showgrounds under the State Advances Act or the Rural Credits Act, 1926" w<p a remit considered. This was approved, and it was decided to circularise all associations and request that the remit be sent on to their respective members of Parliament asking for their sijpport.
