CABLE-WIRELESS MERGER.
NEW ZEALAND WILL A^REE.
NO OFFICIAL STATEMENT YET.
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day.
No official statement is available from the Prime Minister, but it is practically certain that the New Zealand Government will acquiesce in the recommendations of the Imperial Wireless and Cable Conference, that a commercial corporation to finapee and control cable ar.d wireless systems be formed. The interests of the public are to be watched, and •the rates controlled by a special consultative body, composed of representatives of the various Governments.
\ One of the concerns affected will be the Pacific Cable Board.
