SOCIAL GATHERINGS.

The most successful meeting yet held of the Thames Girls' Club (Auckland) took place in the club room Druids' Hall, on Tuesday afternoon. The president, Mrs. P. McGregor, occupied the chair. A musical programme was contributed by Mesdames Snowling, Mcll wraith, Trembath, McKiustry and Miss Trendall. An interesting address was given by the Rev. Scriingeour, and the members presented him with a surprise packet in the form of 120 parcels of fool and clothing to be distributed amongst the poor and needy. Afternoon tea was served by the committee, and the» singing of "Au'.d Lang Syne" brought the afternoon to a close.

The members of the Children's Community Club held a meeting in the committee room of the Town Hall yesterday, when Mrs. A. D. Campbell, Mayoress, was in the chair. Arrangements were mads for the coming collection day and the various stalls were allotted. The following working committee will meet at Mrs. Harold Court's house in Remuera to make badges and do other work: Mrs. Hughes Jones, Mrs. .St. Clair Inglis, Mrs. Cooper, Mrs. Alfred Eadv, Mrs. John Fuller, Mrs. Neil son, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. S. H. Brown, Mrs. Williamson, Mrs. Callum, Mrs. Restill. Mrs. Blomfield, Mrs. F. Gaudin, Mrs. Sinel, Mrs. Beckerleg, Mrs. Metcalfe, Mrs. Pratt, Mrs. Fletcher, Miss D'Arcy Jones, Miss Clark, Miss Pagni, Miss Davis, Miss McDonnell and Miss E. Brown.

The members of St. Patrick's Tennis Club held a successful dance in St. Patrick's Hall. Wellington Street, last evening. The hall presented a very gay appearance with its many coloured streamers and decorations and reflected great credit on the committee. The committee were Misses G. Ball, mauve crepe de chine, shawl to tone; M. Tristram, black velvet and shawl; M. Smyth, rose pink lace; A. McKie, cyclamen and silver lame; X. O'Sullivan, cyclamen crepe de chine; E. The Takapuna Boating Club, Bayswater, was the scene of a bright little dance last night, given to raise funds for their Vindictive Sea Scouts. The hall supper room and corridors looked gay decked in all nations' flags. In a few glowing remarks Mr. Moller presented Mr. Thode, Sea Scout, master of the troop, with a large Union Jack. Mr. Kelly and Miss Warburton gave a delightful exhibition of the Yale Blues and items by Mr. Sandler and the Denticc Trio were well received. Amongst those present were: Mrs. H. G.
