THE NEW DURANTS

A new series of six-cylinder closed cars, built by Durant Motors, of Toronto. Canada, combine the latest features of the automobile industry, forming a very attractive line handled by Campbell Motors, Ltd., of Anzac Avenue. There arc three models, the 55, 65 and 75. The 55 is available in three body styles— coach, coupe, and sedan. The bodies arc very well built, the frames being of seasoned maple. The orthodox coach-built body has the advantage over all steel construction in that it is more free from noise and drumming. The model 63, illustrated above, is a heavier and more powerful car. larger in the body and with a better class of upholstery and special attention to finish. The 75 model is not yet available for inspection, but judging by the specifications it incorporaotes several very interesting and attractive features. All models are powered with Continental Real Seal special motors, also Bendix internal self-energising fourwheel brakes. Glolite headlamps, the only light which makes mist and rain invisible. A feature is the Durant patent windshield opener, a fitting which is at. once simple, neat, efficient and immune from rattles. The radiator is quite a new type, giving an impressive front view and perfect streamline effect. The bodies are highly finished in striking colours in Duco. The Morse silent timing chain is also a standard fitting, while the cooling system is automatically controlled by" a ' thermostat. The motor is mounted in rubber on fourpoint suspension, which has the effect of removing all vibration. The interior fittings impart a touch of quiet luxury and serviceability. Both driver and passengers are provided with deep, comfortable seats, while wide doors make for easy access. An inspection will reveal the many good points of these modern cars.
