FAREWELL TO MR. HARRIS.
EXPRESSION OF APPRECIATION.
A farewell on his departure for th* coming session of Parliament was tendered to Mr. A. Harris, member for Waitemata. last evening. A n-imber of supporters, representative of all parts of the electorate, gathered o«i thi» lVvonport wharf. A letter of appiOL-iation of Mr. Harris' eil'orts during t<. <> past 17 years on behalf of the 'liatriet, was lead '! y Mr. J. E. Close. Through the letter was conveyed to Mr. Harris an appreciation for the many yoa-a of faithful duty and service he had rendered to the constituency, and above all for the unflinching manner in which he had stood for his convictions. An assurance that his supporters would do all in their iwwer to return him apain at the "general election was also contained in th 4 letter. Short addresses were given hy Mr. J. Hislop, Mr. T. Hanna and Mr. Matthews.
