WAIHI FARMERS' UNION.

(Hj Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI\ this day. The first meeting of the recentlyformed Waihi branch of the New Zea'and Formers' I'inon was held last even ing, when an address was delivered by Mr. A. E. Robinson, provincial secretary, on the aims, objects and activities of the union.

Mr. Robinson emphasised the necessity of loyalty among members, adding that it was quite certain that no other class of the community needed unionism more than the. farmers. A few years ago the organisation was only a union in name, but to-day it had made itself felt throughout the Dominion. Referring to dairy herd*,, the speaker said that owing to" testing and improvement in pastures production had gone up leaps and bounds.

Mr. O. Bjerring was elected president of the branch and Mr. A. H. Blackiuore lion, secretary and treasurer.
