STREET ACCIDENTS.
STRUCK BT MOTOR CARS. ELDERLY MAX SERIOUSLY HURT. Three street accidents occurred in Auckland last evening, and two of the victims were admitted to the Auckland Hospital. An elderly man, Mr. Henry Kean, aged 60, received severe head injuries through being knock*"' down in Belgium Street by a motor car driven by Mr. Albert Miller, of Xo. 1, Belford Avenue, shortly after a quarter past five. He was taken to the hospital in an unconscious condition, and this morning had only partly regained consciousness. His condition is regarded as fairly serious. A fracture of the ankle was received by Mrs. Elizabeth Sowden, aged 59, who resides at Xo. 8, St. Benedicts Street, through being struck by a motor car about nine o'clock. While crossing Karangaliape Road to catch a Ponsonby tram about a quarter to seven, Miss Edith Carpenter, of Xo. 76, Lincoln Street, Ponsonby, was knocked down by a passing motor lorry and received abrasions to the legs. After receiving medical attention she was able to proceed home.
